In this intimate conversation, Ashley Griffin invites us into a practice of living with intention; where intuition guides decision-making, ritual anchors identity, and personal style becomes a quiet declaration of self.
AoD: Your approach to fashion feels both intentional and intuitive. How would you describe your personal style philosophy, and what informs the way you curate your wardrobe?
Griffin: As a young child I quickly realized I had an innate intuition to say exactly who I am without ever uttering a word, as well as express my mood any given day with what I chose to put on - it was literally my canvas to create. Which is also why I deeply believe style is in you, not on you. I’m inherently drawn to pieces that spark joy and emotion in me. Oversized & abstract silhouettes, textures, layers on layers are a few foundational components of how I curate.

AoD: The Inspired, i has such a distinct visual identity. What inspires your aesthetic point of view, and how do you translate emotion, lifestyle, and design into your digital storytelling?
Griffin: Wow - first and foremost - thank you. It’s interesting because I’ve always felt there’s inspirationin literally everything around us. It’s why I came up with the name The Inspired, i which is merelymy way of saying i am inspired backwards. Elements of nature, architecture, books, music, performing & visual arts, fashion - are just a few things that shape my desire to be present in the present and allow everyday elements to have profound impact on how I show up in the digital space.
AoD: In what ways does your lifestyle influence your fashion choices? Are there rituals, routines, or environments that shape how you present yourself creatively?
Griffin: This question makes me smile because if you know me then you know I am ritual + routine obsessed! Starting my day lighting incense & candles throughout the house, making my morning turmeric tonic, preparing my iced latte, getting a work out in - are small, attainable acts that keep mymind calm. I’m a constant dreamer so I inherently have anywhere from 537 tabs open in my brain at any given time, so maintaining routine definitely keeps my feet planted while my thoughts are constantly brewing.
AoD: AoD often explores the relationship between personal expression and space. How does design — whether interiors, textures, or environment — influence your sense of style and the way you move through the world?
Griffin: Cultivating my space is such a direct extension of who I am. My sense of style and interior are directly intertwined, constantly influencing one another. So just as I do with my wardrobe, scouring special vintage finds and collecting pieces from travels, is such an intentional process to create an environment that keeps me ignited.
AoD: As you look ahead, what stories or themes are you most excited to explore in your creative journey? How do you hope your work continues to inspire your community?
Griffin: There is one distinct theme I’m rooted in right now - the everyday is extraordinary. I really hope that I can inspire an appetite for my community to invest in what they love and then live in it every. single. day. Unfortunately, we are existing in a time where it feels impossible to be joyful with so many heavy issues constantly looming around us, but I firmly believe joy is an act of resistance. And for sanity's sake, we must create our own joy by any means necessary.
